Ok lets get skramzy....with a post about Ampere!!

Alright so Ampere is one of the few emo/screamo bands that is still surviving today. Their definitely what I would call "Chaotic hardcore" if youre afraid of the screamo term. Their probably my favorite real screamo band. They have Will from Orchid which gives them tons of coolness points. Ill be honest and say that I havent heard all of their music, but I have heard their only (I think?) full length which is "All Our Tomorrow Ends Today" and also their split with Sinaloa.

Their lyrics are deep and passionate but not too pretentious which is good. (I hate pretentious lyrics) Also, their music is suprisingly easy on the ears. I mean one listen through half of a combatwoundedveteran album and your head is ready to explode. Ampere on the other hand is more musical then a lot of their screamo counterparts (at least in my opinion) Its funny because their songs usually average about 30 seconds to a minute long, but that doesnt take away from anything. I will admit, that I do wish "All Our Tomorrow Ends Today" was a little longer (I think it comes in at about 15 minutes) but its still really great. I would recommend it to any hardcore fan.

I was able to see them live at the fest and man, it was the MOST intense show I have ever been apart of. I love intense shows but this one was even too intense for me. I was in the mosh for the first few songs and then I left and just watched. It was CRAZY but in such a cool way. Ampere themselves were awesome on stage. The lead vocalist had such an awesome stage presence. It was so cool. Austin (the co-writer of this blog) was able to jump on stage and sing along to a gorilla biscuits cover with them. That was ridiculously awesome. If Ampere ever comes anywhere near you, I suggest you go see them cause it will be SO cool.

Well thats my opinion on Ampere. Everyone should buy their albums asap. They are SO good and the liner notes are cool.

Heres a download for their full length. "All Our Tomorrow Ends Today" But if you like it, then PLEASE buy their album. These bands are struggling. Thank you!

bronson and das oath

today will be discussing punk and hardcore vocalist mark McCoy and talking about of a few of his bands such as Charles Bronson, holy molar, das oath as well as his new project failures with will from ampere an orchid

few words to describe him energetic, jerk, funny, and spastic

Charles Bronson was a prolific power violence band from dekalb Illinois who were together from 1994 to 1997. the bands style is power violence in the same vein as bands such as infest who blended youth crew hardcore with thrash the band also took samples from various media including movies by the actor Charles Bronson. lyrical the band took satirical jabs at the hardcore community the band had a long standing feud with Cleveland hardcore band one life crew as noticed on tracks such as one life crew goes on slim fast and also had a strong dislike for tony victory ala the track tony victory knows how to party. the band released many hard to come by 7 inchs splits and comp tracks. the bands complete discography or in this case discocrappy was released in 1999 on 625 thrashcore the band was also known for their witty song titles such as

"I Can't Be In A Band With You Because You Like Epitaph
"They Should Legalize Drugs So You Can Hurry Up And Fucking Die"(two of the members were sxe)

last show ever

in 1999 mark formed the thrash core band das oath in new york originating from the Netherlands. after only two rehearsals the band recorded their 8 song debut seven inch an soon followed by touring all over europe in fall 0f 2000. the band returned to the studio record their 9" / 10" record. the band did a us tour after that. in 2004 the band released the released their self titled debut on uber mega indie hipster label dim mak many people felt the band lost the punk ascetic. they also released another album through youth attack

one of my favorite releases the band did is their covers split with ampere

das oath covered jesus and mary chain, nirvana, the offspring and negative fx
